Thank you ladies! Whitney you have a wonderful source of photo material if you work at a shelter! Recently I saw a little photo expose done but a woman who shot all black and white photos of shelter dogs in the shelter environment. (Can't remember where I saw it.) It also included the fate of each dog. Some happy endings, some not... and why. It was a very moving and eye-opening piece. Everyone in the world should be informed about the importance of adopting a rescue vs. buying a dog. But I'm preaching to the choir here!!
...And I just want to state for the record that this dog is SUPPOSED to look this way! He's a Hairless Chinese Crested. I didn't want anyone to think I was making fun of him (much). Although I would say that he could use some advice from Donald Trump's stylist...to deal with that hair. ;-)
I will confess, a golden mix, a heeler mix, 2 cats indoors (all rescued) and (I'm not kidding) 6 felines out front for the hard food, water, shade and canned milk. I know, I know, canned milk ... a no no. Two of the feral are getting pretty cozy. I say to myself, "Trena, you know this is how that happens ... you see it on the news and read it in the papers. 'Little old lady found in complete state of dementia with 10 cats and 6 dogs...animal control is on the scene' ...". When, one by one, they get close enough, its off to vet for Spay & Neuter!!!!! I can't watch those reality animal neglect police shows on TV. I think one is filmed here in Phoenix. But I just can't..too heart breaking.
Thanks Dave- The girl who was holding him said "He's mad because his girlfriend just left." I didn't think about it at the time, but in the photo he looks kinda pissed! I wish I got a shot of his lady friend!
Trena- You are owned by a heeler mix too?! They are an addicting breed. Thank doG my Bonita is horrible around other dogs or we'd own dozens and be on the nightly news too!

Fantastic shot. I laughed out loud at this one.:)
Aww, I work at a dog shelter, and so this one really rang a bell for me. There are some real winners at the shelters.
