This images is very Sad. We rescued a 5 year old Irish Wolfhound/German shepherd years ago, because no one wanted an older, 130lb dog. He became the love of our lives and the couch warmer we always wanted, until we had to say goodbye last year. No regrets. He had a great life, and our lives were richer for it.

Irishdragonfly...that is awesome that you chose to adopt a dog many people would overlook. And how wonderful that you received lots of snuggly dividens in return! I'm involved in dog rescue and it is disheartening how many people only want to adopt the perfect little puppy!
