Just found your site through the link in a comment you left on my blog and I have to say your work is very good. This image with the two doors almost looks like one could be a negative version of the other. To me the photo seems to convey how two seemingly similar people can be so different. Excellent composition and tonal qualities.

Thanks Whitney & Armadillo! Yes, I agree that the photo shows how we can choose to live our lives differently from our neighbor. My husband and I have been looking at new (to us) old houses to buy and it is always a strange sensation to walk through a stranger's life, opening closets, peeking in the cellar...getting a snapshot of their life. Then you walk out wondering what the hell they were thinking when they put that wallpaper up in the diningroom- but that is beside the point! ;-)

Great work, and I too love going through old houses. Except I once rented one with the idea of seeing if I'd like to actually live in one. Bad idea. Restoration didn't seem as grand a scheme when I had to actually carry it out.:) I still love looking at them though.

Happy house hunting. An interesting series of images might be of similar room or object in many different homes. Just an idea.

Thanks Aurora! Yes, we live in a house now that was built in 1870. We've been working on it for 10 years. Everything we've done has taken 3 times longer than we thought and cost 3 times more than predicted!

Good suggestion Armadillo...maybe I'll start taking photos of the front doors of the places that we look at. Or I could do portraits of the strange real estate agents we have encountered in our travels.(JK!)
